Thorncliffe bags £1,000 from Tesco’s community grant scheme - update
Back in May 2018 Lynn Duncombe, the Funding Officer for Thorncliffe Bowling Club, was delighted to announce the club has bagged £1,000 from Tesco's Bags of Help community grant scheme.
Bags of Help is run in partnership with environmental charity Groundwork, and sees grants raised from the sale of carrier bags awarded to thousands of local community projects every year. Since launching in 2015, it's provided more than £52 million to over 16,000 local community projects.
Lynn, who is now Club Secretary, would like to let Thorncliffe members know that with this money the Club has purchased a box to house the defibrillator, a portable ramp to enable wheelchair access to the facilities, a new water sprinkler (in case we have another dry summer), a new hedge trimmer to replace the one that died, a new plastic wheelbarrow, a new kitchen tap to replace the one that disintegrated, and two new toilet cisterns to replace the ones that leaked.

The Committee would like to thank all those who went to Tesco at Hoyland to vote.
