Macmillan - World's Biggest Coffee Morning
Coffee Morning is a great excuse to get your friends together for coffee and cake, and raise money for a good cause. There are now 2.5 million people in the UK living with cancer. By 2030, it will be 4 million people, and we want to be there for them all. One in three of us will get cancer, and it will be one of the toughest things we'll ever have to face. Macmillan's goal is to make sure no one faces cancer alone. The money raised at Coffee Mornings will make sure no one has to face it alone.
It's Macmillan's biggest fundraising event, where they ask people across the UK to hold a coffee morning and raise money for people living with cancer. In 2016, 154,000 people signed up, raising a record £29.5 million.
Cancer is the toughest fight most of us will ever face. And as treatments improve, more and more people are living with cancer in their daily lives. The money raised at Coffee Morning will help make sure no one has to face cancer without support, from the moment they are diagnosed, through treatment and beyond.

Thorncliffe member, Sue Pass says "This year the Coffee Morning was again held at Chapeltown Library on Friday 29th September, from 10:00 a.m until 12 noon. In 2016 we raised £711.

We had a fantastic result on Friday, with lot's of our bowling club members braving terrible weather. A very big thank you from myself for all their support. The total raised was £824.25. This amount includes all crafts I have sold over tbe passed few months which raised a total of £435.90. Totally amazing I cannot thank them enough."
