Thorncliffe Bowling Club News
The New 2017 Season
So the greens are now open, all the captains have their 2017 fixtures, and its almost time for the new season to start. For those of you who missed the Squad Selection meeting, there's a couple of changes this year. Although this is a particularly busy time of year for Thorncliffe Secretary, Fran Parratt, she has issued the following News Bulletin.

"We have a new Greenkeeper, David Robins and his son Paul. They look after several of the Sheffield greens. Bob Thompson is still the Greens Liaison Officer, so any issues, suggestions or feedback, positive or negative, please advise Bob. Bob now has a brand new email address; greens.liaison@thorncliffebowlingclub.co.uk

We also have a Funding Officer. Lynn Duncombe has very kindly stepped up to take on this role and Lynn is busy applying on behalf of the club for grants, sponsorship and to local companies to advertise at the green. So if you know anyone who may be interested or have any funding suggestions, please contact Lynn on funding@thorncliffebowlingclub.co.uk

We still require a Competition Secretary, if you are interested or would like to know more about the role, please ask.

Our South Yorkshire Open Day is on Sunday 9th April. Please come along and bring lots of new friends with you to try bowling. We are busy trying to promote this and hope we can get some new members to join us.

There will be no Parks Junior League in Sheffield this year, which is sad indeed. Thorncliffe were the only club with Junior teams available to play in 2017! As Sheffield Parks Junior Merit Secretary, I will still be running the Junior competitions again this year and these will be open to any Junior under 16, member or non-member. Dates will be advised shortly.

I hope you have a great season, and don't forget to take a look in the hut for competition details. Let's get some entries in this year, and give it a try."
